With a passion for music, Lance has been playing and leading worship since his youth. For over 15 years, he has contributed to the worship services at Cottonwood, helping to lead and inspire through music.
Lance lives on his family’s farm with his wife, Chelsea, and their six children. Together, they own and operate local coffee shops in Lingleville, Dublin, and Stephenville.
“My goal is to lead people in such a way that they see, experience, and respond to God’s glory in worship.
I aim to guide our community towards a deeper understanding of what worship truly means, both in our collective gatherings at church and in our individual lives.”
“I grew up in South Louisiana and came to Christ at the age of eight. Initially, my journey with the Lord lacked direction, but God worked a miracle in my life by completely redeeming my broken family. After a painful separation, He brought my parents back together.
This profound change led my entire family to the Lord. It was in junior high school that I picked up a guitar for the first time and began leading worship, marking the start of my lifelong commitment to music and ministry.”
The Lord is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the defense of my life;
Whom shall I dread?
When evildoers came upon me to devour my flesh,
My adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell.
Though a host encamp against me,
My heart will not fear;
...
Teach me Your way, O Lord,
And lead me in a level path
Because of [h]my foes.
Do not deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries,
For false witnesses have risen against me,
And such as breathe out violence.
I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
Be strong and let your heart take courage;
Yes, wait for the Lord.Psalm 27:13-14
“Outside of church duties, I manage three coffee shops and cherish the moments spent with my family on our farm.
I also take pleasure in motorcycle rides with friends and family, as well as growing hot peppers in the garden.”
“I often say that my primary ministry is to God, followed closely by my dedication to my family. My third ministry encompasses everything else I engage in, whether that’s crafting a cup of coffee, offering prayers with a stranger at the grocery store, or leading worship on Sunday morning.
I believe we’re all called to ministry, which means doing the Kingdom’s work wherever we find ourselves, particularly beyond the church walls. The question, ‘What does He have in store for me today?’ is what motivates me every morning.”
