Wayne began attending Cottonwood in 2001 after a career in Hollywood’s film and television industry. In 2003, he started Cottonwood’s broadcast ministry on local radio, before expanding to online streaming in 2008.
In 2015, Wayne collaborated with Scott Hooper to create original theatrical productions aimed at engaging the local community. Since then, productions like “Faces of Christmas” and “Faces of Easter” have drawn around 10,000 attendees, sharing Christ’s story through a blend of acting, music, and dance.
Wayne and his wife, Rebecca, have four children, who have all been a part of Cottonwood’s theater arts. Wayne holds a BA in Film & Television from Baylor University.
“My vision is to share Christ through our broadcast media and theatrical productions, while also encouraging those in our body with specific gifts and talents to be involved in these ministries.”
“Though saved at an early age, I wandered for many years before I began to hear His voice and truly follow. And what an adventure it has been!
My career vision as a 13-year-old was to ‘make movies that make a difference;’ and it’s been awesome to know that in my later years, God has used my passions to impact lives!”
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
“I love spending time outdoors, usually on nature walks and gardening. I also enjoy being onstage, occasionally performing in local community theater with my son, Travis.
In addition, I run a regional video production company, producing videos for businesses and nonprofits.”
“It’s the fusion of my life’s passions: love for God, people, theatre, and broadcast media!”
