Laying the foundation for a lifelong relationship with Jesus

Our mission for Cottonwood Sprouts at The House is to ensure our littlest ones grasp the depth of God’s love for them and understand that they are wonderfully made for His glory.

We collaborate with parents to sow the early seeds of faith, nurturing children’s self-perception and their budding relationship with God. Our goal is to foster positive, early memories of church and faith, laying the groundwork for a lifelong relationship with Jesus.

FIRST TIME VISITOR

What to expect at The House

Visiting a new church for the first time can often bring a mix of excitement and uncertainty, particularly when it involves the care of your children.

Here are some tips and tricks to know what to expect before you come.

Before you come

  • What to bring: To make your child’s experience as comfortable as possible, we recommend bringing diapers, wipes, and an extra set of clothes, especially for younger children.
  • Settling in: If it’s your first or second visit, we understand you might want to stay with your child until they feel at ease. You’re always welcome to do so.

Warm welcome on arrival

  • Greeting and guidance: The House is located right next to the main Worship Center, Stroud Hall, in a small white house (it’s our old parsonage!). Someone will greet you and assist with registering your child.
  • Easy registration process: For first-time visitors, we’ll guide you through a simple information tag for your child. This ensures we have all the necessary details to provide the best care.

Ensuring your child's comfort and safety

  • Responsive care: If your child needs you during the service, we’ll start by sending you a text message. If necessary, we’ll come and find you.
  • Special circumstances: We take special care to ask about and accommodate any allergies, special needs, or medical concerns. Our goal is to give each child a personalized and positive experience.

Safety is our priority

  • Safety protocols: Our adult-to-child ratio is kept low to ensure attentive care, with a minimum of two adults in every room. Additionally, each room is equipped with cameras, viewable from the main foyer, for added security.
  • Health and emergency preparedness: Our team includes at least one individual trained in CPR and first aid, ready to respond to any health concerns or emergencies.

Joining The House community

  • Becoming part of The House: After a few visits, we can enter your details into our computer system to streamline the check-in process, making your future visits even smoother.
  • Open communication: We encourage open communication and are always available to answer any questions or address concerns you may have about your child’s experience in The House.

Proactive health measures

The health and well-being of your child are paramount. We have protocols in place to handle health-related issues promptly and efficiently.

In the unlikely event of an emergency, there is always a staff member present who is trained in first aid and CPR. We have a clear plan of action to ensure the safety and care of all children in our charge.

Keeping you informed

We believe in maintaining open lines of communication with parents. Whether it's a routine update or a specific concern, we're here to discuss your child's needs and experiences.

Questions? We can help

The House is designed for children from birth to 5 years old, just before they start kindergarten.

We have a secure check-in and check-out system to ensure that only authorized parent or guardians are allowed to pick-up your child. On your first visit, we’ll guide you through a simple registration process. For subsequent visits, the process is streamlined for convenience.

The safety of your child is our highest priority. All our caregivers and volunteers undergo thorough background checks and receive training in child care, safety protocols, and emergency response.

Activities include age-appropriate biblical lessons, music and singing, snack time, and playtime, both indoors and outdoors. For older preschoolers, we also offer the AWANA Cubbies program on Wednesday nights.

We take allergies and dietary needs very seriously. Please inform us of any specific requirements your child has, and we will make the necessary accommodations.

If your child becomes ill or cannot be consoled, we will contact you immediately. We usually first text you and then find you on-campus if we are unable to get a response.

It’s helpful to bring diapers, wipes, and a change of clothes for younger children. You may also bring a favorite small comfort item for your child if you wish. Please make sure all your items are clearly labeled. Older children should be dressed for the weather, as we try to spend time outside!

We always welcome parental involvement! Please contact us to learn more about volunteer opportunities and how you can contribute to The House ministry.
