When You Pray, Say: Lead Us Not Into Temptation!
Mike Fritscher

Luke 11:1-4

Psalm 28:1 Do not be deaf to me, for if you are silent to me, I will become like those who go down to the Pit.

Hebrews 7:25 Jesus always lives to intercede for those who draw near to Him!

Luke 11:1 “Lord, teach us to Pray!”

What We Are Taught to Pray: Luke 11:2-4

1. An Outline! A Skeleton of the requests One is to Make!

2. A Living Prayer! The Things we say in prayer are the things we are to live in life!

3. An Effective Prayer! Begins With the Glory of God and Deals With Man’s Need and How God Provides!

4. A Relational Prayer! Who God is, who we are and How we relate to the God!

5. A Faith Prayer! Believing What God Has done and what He will continue to do!

6. A Prayer of Agreement! Agreeing With All that God Says!

“Lead Us Not Into Temptation, But deliver us from Evil”

What This is Not:

1. God Enticing You to Sin – There is One Tempter!

James 1:12

2. You Avoiding Trials! James 1:2-6

John 16:33 In the world you have tribulation, be of good courage I have overcome the world!

Romans 8:28-35

What this is:

1. You Following Christ through Life: Through the Good, the bad, the Uncertain!

2. You Facing Trials and Temptations and Saying Lead us not…. But not my will, but Yours!

3. It’s Saying, Lord! Lead me not into the places that could really do me in, But deliver me!

We Say!

1. You Are My Redeemer and Guide!

2. We Are the Redeemed and the Followers of Christ!

3. We Will By Your power and presence Overcome!

How? James 1:2-6

1. Count it all Joy! Hebrews 12:1-3

2. Confess What Testings Do! They Produce Endurance!

3. Ask For Wisdom! James 3:13-15

4. Belive that God Will Indeed Give You This Wisdom!

1 Corinthians 10:13
