When God Gives His Spirit!
Mike Fritscher

Resurrection Words of Christ: John 20:22 Receive the Holy Sprit!

When You Receive the Holy Spirit! John 20:19-23

Peace – With God, With Self, With Al People. Purpose – As the Father has sent me, so I send you! Sent Like Jesus. Power – Receive the Holy Spirit! Empowered Like Jesus!

I. You Receive the Living God! It is Who He Is!

Acts 5:1-4 The Holy Spirit = God.

Zechariah 4:6 Then he said to me, This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel, Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord of hosts!

II. Your Receive Who He is And What He Does!

• Life Giver: You Receive New Life! John 3:1-9

2 Corinthians 3:6 ….. the letter kills, but the Spirit Gives Life!

Job 33:4 The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

John 6:3 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

• Advocate: You Receive Constant Help! John 16:7-

Advocate – Helper, Comforter, Comes to the side for your aid! One who pleads another’s cause before a judge, a pleader, counsel for defense. An intercessor.

• The Spirit Empowers You!

Acts 1:8 You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit Comes upon your and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the uttermost parts of the world.

• The Spirit Prays for You! Romans 8:18-29

• The Spirit Leads and Teaches You in Every Area!
1 John 2:20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know. 27 As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him!

How do we Apply This to Our Lives?

1. Believe that When you Received Jesus, You Received the Holy Spirit!

2. Believe that He is Who the Word Says He is And He does What the Word says He does. And He is at work right now!

3. Abide In Jesus! That’s What the Holy Spirit teaches!
4. Ask Him! Luke 11:9-13
