The Reason For Christ’s Cross!

Genesis 3

1. Everything Was Perfect! God Was Glorified!

2. Adam and Eve were Content, Satisfied, Full of Purpose!

• Made In God’s Image to Reflect His Glory! Genesis 1:26-27

Isaiah 43:7 Everyone who is called by My name, and whom I have created for My glory. . .

• Created For Good Works – Ephesians 2:10

Matthew 5:16 Let your light shine before men I such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven!

3. Adam and Eve were Instructed and Equipped! Gen 2:17-18

4. We Were in the Wrong Place, Listening to the Wrong Voice!

• The Principle of Location! “ Be Where You Are Supposed to Be!”

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 – Come Out From Their Midst!

• Adam and Eve Believed the Lie, in Disregard of the Truth!

• The Principle of God’s Truth! “What God Says: Is Forever True”

Know, Believe and Obey the Truth!

• The Truth: The Wages of Sin is Death!

• The Lie: No Consequences for Disobedience!

• The Truth: You Have Everything You need!

• The Lie: God is Not Enough!

• The Truth: You Need God, In order to Know the Truth!

• The Lie: You can know the truth w/out God – Be Your Own Lord!

• The Truth : God’s Word! John 17:17 Your Word Is Truth!

• The Truth : Jesus! John 14:6 I am the way the truth and the life!

• The Truth: Sets You Free from Sin’s Power! John 8:32

• The Truth: We are born again. 1 Peter 1:21-23

• The Truth: Instructs, corrects… trains in righteousness 2 Tim 3:16

• The Truth : Produces faith. Romans 10:17

6. They Gave Into Temptation and Sinned!

• The Principle of Resistance! “You Can Always Resist Temptation!”

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man: and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape, so that you will be able to endure it.

• Every Temptation Is Common and Bearable.

• Every Temptation Comes With A Way of Escape.

• You Can Endure the Temptation (Trial).

7. God Confronted, To Restore, Not Destroy!

Hiding In Shame Never Works! “ They Hid themselves!”

God’s Confrontation Comes With A Remedy!

8. God Came to Our Brokenness With The Remedy!

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall crush you on the head and you shall bruise Him on the heel.

Isaiah 53: Pointing to the Cross!

Colossians 1:27 – Christ in You the Hope of Glory!
