We Must Examine Ourselves: 1 Corinthians 11:28
1st In the Night Jesus Was Betrayed:
2nd The Sacrifice for All Your Sins For All Time:
The Body Broken This is My Body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.
The Body of Jesus Bore Your Sorrows!
Isaiah 53:4 Surely our griefs He Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God and afflicted!
The Body of Jesus Bore Your Sins! 1 Peter 2:21-25
John 1:29 Behold the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!
The New Covenant of His Blood: This Cup is the New Covenant in My blood: do this as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me
His Blood Cleanses and Forgives You!
Hebrews 9:14 – The Blood of Christ Cleanses your conscience form dead works to save the living God! 23: Without the shedding of blood there is not forgiveness of sins!
His Blood Provides Constant Access to the Father!
Hebrews 10:19 Since therefore brothers we have confidence to enter in to the Holy Place by the Blood of Jesus!
The Blood Provides Victory Over the Devil!
Revelation 12:11 And they overcome him (the Devil) because of the Blood of the Lamb, the Word of their Testimony and they did not love their lives, Even unto Death!
The Blood was the Purchase Price for You, His Church: Acts 20:28
Ephesians 1:7 In Whim we have redemptions through His blood the forgiveness of our trespasses according the riches of His Grace!
1 Peter 1:18 Knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, 19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.
Revelation 5:9 And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.
The Covenant Comes with Promises to keep the covenant to be a blessing not a curse to the one you are making covenant with.
4th We Must Examine Ourselves 26-32
Because this Is Sacred:
Because You are Proclaiming the Lord’s Death
When You Come in an Un Worthy Manner: You eat and drink judgment to Yourself!
To See if You are Really in the Faith:
2 Corinthians 13:5 Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not Recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you unless indeed you fail the test.
Romans 1:28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper.
1 John 3:4-9
Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
To Come to this Table in a Manner Worthy of the Lord
Areas of Obedience!
Unbelief! In the Very Nature of Christ’s Work on the Cross! Vs. 5
Have You Trusted Christ for the Salvation of Your Soul?
Do You Believe in His Substitution for You on the Cross and that His Body and Blood was broken and spilt for You?
Does Your Faith Foster a Well Pleasing Life with the Father?
Is there anything that God has told you to do that you have not done?
Is there anything that God has told you to give up & you have not given it up?
Do You Trust God enough to Obey Him in the areas of Giving and Spending the Money He has Entrusted You With?
Idolatry – A Life Lived Seeking After Anything or Anyone Other than God to Fulfill What Only God Can Fulfill!
Do you love anything or anyone more than God?
Do You Welcome and Allow the Holy Spirit to Lead You in Every Area of Your Life?
Do you covet those things you do not have?
Have you stolen? Have you cheated?
Are you a lover of money and things?
Are you entangled with the affairs of this life?
Do you have material lust?
Do you give cheerfully of Your tithes and Offerings!
Immorality: A Mind and/or Will that Runs after Sexual Impurity!
Lustful thoughts, Inappropriate Language, Pornography, Course Jesting, Fornication, Adultery, Same Sex
Grumbling: Are you Content, Satisfied, Grateful? Jude 1:14-16
Pride – Are any of these things true of your life?
Un-forgiveness, Anger, Critical Spirit, Fault-Finder, Always Right,
Jealousy, Bitterness, Arrogance.
The Fruit of the Spirit! Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Do you show love?
Do you possess joy? Or are you a grumbler & complainer w/ an embittered spirit?
Do you have peace? Or is there dissension, factions, fighting arguing & irreconcilable differences? Worry? Fear? Anxiety? A lack of trust in His work?
Are you patient? W/ your family? Your children? Your employer or employees? With your church leaders?
Are you kind in word and in deed?
Do you practices the goodness of God? Or are you mean, grumpy & critical?
Are you faithful? Are you Dependable? Are you a person of your word? Do you work in your field as unto the Lord? Do You Keep Your Promises?
Are You gentle? Or are you harsh?
Do you practice self-control? With your tongue, your appetites, your actions?
