The Irrevocable Call of God! Luke 5:1-11

I. The Call to Obedience – When God asks You to do Something – Just Do It!

Even when it does not make sense!

II. The Call to Humility – Always Be Ready to Confess Your Weakness, Your Sinfulness, Your Struggle! And make sure you are not thinking too highly of Yourself!

What does this posture of Humility do for the Kingdom?

It Roots Out Entitlement

It Brings Grace

James 4:5-10

It Brings Forgiveness! 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

It Brings Justification!

Luke 18:9-14 The Sinner and the Publican! It’s Me!

It Brings a Brand New Life!

He leaves everything to follow Jesus!

III. The Call to Abandonment! Always Be willing to Abandon anything and everything God asks you to abandon!

Matthew 19:28-30 We left everything and followed you!

Philippians 3:8 More than that, I count all things to be loss in the view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but Dung so that I may gain Christ.

Walk by the Spirit! Galatians 5:16-23

Areas of Obedience!

1. Unbelief! In the Very Nature of Christ’s Work on the Cross!

Have You Trusted Christ for the Salvation of Your Soul?
Do You Believe in His Substitution for You on the Cross and that His Body and Blood was broken and spilt for You?
Does Your Faith Foster a Well Pleasing Life with the Father?
Is there anything that God has told you to do that you have not done?
Is there anything that God has told you to give up and you have not given it up?
Do You Trust God enough to Obey Him in the areas of Giving and Spending the Money He has Entrusted You With?

2. Idolatry – A Life Lived Seeking After Anything or Anyone Other than God to Fulfill What Only God Can Fulfill!

Do you love anything or anyone more than God?
Do You Welcome and Allow the Holy Spirit to Lead You in Every Area of Your Life? Do you covet those things you do not have?
Have you stolen? Have you cheated? Are you a lover of money and things?
Are you entangled with the affairs of this life? Do you have material lust?
Do you give cheerfully of Your tithes and Offerings!

3. Immorality! Have you participated in any immorality?

Lustful thoughts, Dirty Stories, Course Jesting , Pornography
Adultery, Fornication

4. Speaking Against God! Numbers 21:5 The people spoke against God and Moses, ” Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this miserable food.”

5. Grumbling: Content, Satisfied, Grateful?

6. Pride – Are any of these things true of your life?

Un-forgiveness, Anger, Offendable, Jealousy, Critical Spirit, Jealousy, Bittrness, Fault Finder, Always Right, Pride

The Fruit of the Spirit! Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Do you show love?
Do you possess joy? Or are you a grumbler and complainer w/ an embittered spirit?
Do you have peace? Or is there dissension, factions, fighting arguing and irreconcilable differences? Worry? Fear? Anxiety? A lack of trust in His work?
Are you patient? With your family? With your children? With your employer or employees? With your church leaders?
Are you kind in word and in deed?
Do you practices the goodness of God? Or are you mean, grumpy and critical?
Are you faithful? Can you be depended on? Are you a person of your word? Do you work in your field as unto the Lord?
Are You gentle? Or are you harsh?
Do you practice self-control? With your tongue? With your appetites? With your actions?
