God’s Great Name Communicates His Character, His Work and Who You Are In Him!

I. God’s Name Communicates His Character!

Exodus 3:13-15 – Yahweh, God’s Forever, Memorial Name!

“I Am Who I Am”! – Self existing One!

Psalm 135:13 Your name, O LORD is everlasting (endures forever) Your Memorial, O LORD throughout all generations!

Exodus 34:6-7 – The Character of God!

II. From His Character Comes His Work: Peace!

Yahweh Shamma – I am There! Ezekiel 48:35

Yahweh Nissi – I am Your Banner! Exodus 17:15

Yahweh Jireh! I Am Your Provider! Genesis 22

Yahweh Shalom – The Lord Our Peace! Judges 6:24

When Focused on the Temporal, Peace Is Elusive! When Focused on the Eternal, Peace is Abundant!

• Peace Instead of Worry, Fear and Anxiety!

Fear, Worry and Anxiety is the Absence of Peace: It’s Eyes on the Temporal! It Presumes and Threat of Loss.

Job’s Fears – The Loss of wealth, children and health.

Job 3:25 “For what I fear comes upon me, and what I dread befalls me.

Disciple’s Fear – The Loss of Life Mark 4:38

Unfaithful Steward’s Fear – Failure Matt. 25:24

• Peace Instead of Conflict, Separation and Struggle!

This Shalom is Found in Christ!

Isaiah 9:6 For a child will be born to us a son will be given to us; and the Government will rest on His shoulders and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace!

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world

Ephesians 2:14 says He is Our Peace!

III. His Work Ultimately Defines the Believer in Christ!

Be More Passionate About Being a Vessel of Yahweh Shalom than a Recipient of Yahweh Shalom!

Reflecting Yahweh Shalom!

• Be Anxious For Nothing! Philippians 4:4-8

• Be A Peace Maker! 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 –

You Are the Spiritual Peace Brokers of the World! Reconcilers! Peace makers who inherit the Earth!
