Facing Fear and Worry With Faith and Courage! 1 Samuel 17:23-47

I. Understand the Basis of All Fear. “Presumption and Threat of Loss and Death”

Understand What Fear & Worry Can do to You!

It Paralyzes You from Doing What God wants You to Do!
It’ll Cause Doubt and Unbelief to Increase.
It Makes You forget the Character and Faithfulness of God and what He has done!

Proverbs 29:25 Fear brings a snare, but he who trusts in the LORD will be exalted.

II. Face Your Challengew With Faith Not Fear! 1 Samuel 17:23-47

1. Faith In Who God is And How Great He Is!

1 Samuel 5:2-7: And 1 Samuel 6…. Goliath’s god

There is no one like Our God!

Psalm 86:7 In the day of my trouble I shall call upon You! For You will answer me. 8 There is no one like You among the gods, O Lord, Nor are there any works like Yours. 9 All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord, And they shall glorify You’re name.

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a Rewarder of those who Seek Him.

2. Faith In Who You are In Christ! 1 Samuel 16:11-13

3. Faith that God Rewards Faith. Verses 23-25

“Think Benefits of trust, Courage and Obedience!”

4. Dispute and Challenge Thoughts of Discouragement, loss and Failure with Scripture! (33-34)

Psalm 34:4 I sought the LORD, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.

Psalm 27:1-4 I Will Not Fear

“Whenever I am afraid I will Trust in You” Psalm 56:3

5. Remember and Declare Past Rescues and Victories! (34-37)

6. Go In God’s Strength! (38-40; 45)

2 Corinthians 10:3 for though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, 4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful fro the destructions of fortresses. 5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God and we ar taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ!

Ephesians 6:14: The Belt of Truth, The Breastplate of Righteousness, Shoes of Peace, Shield of faith, Helmet of Salvations, Sword of Spirit Which is the Word of God.

7. Declare God’s Presence & Run to the Battle Line with Confident Courage! (45)

1 John 4:4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

Isaiah 41:10`Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

8. Face Fear For God’s Glory! (46)
