Isaiah 40:1-3 Two Imperatives, Three Words!

1st Imperative: Comfort, O Comfort My People! A Word of Hope!

Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who morn, for they shall be comforted!

2 Corinthians 7:10 For the Sorrow that is according to God produces a repentance without regret, unto salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death!

2nd Imperative! “Speak to the Heart of Jerusalem” A Word of Peace!

Psalm 122:6 Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you. 7 May peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces 8 …. I will now say, “May peace Be Within You!

1st Word: Your Warfare Has Ended!

Because: 1) It’s Not Your Fight, It’s God’s Fight! 2) He Does Invite You to His War, Yet Equips You With Unusual and Spiritual Weapons to Win with Christ! 3) We Know History’s Outcome!

Some Have Called it, The Already and the Not Yet!

John 19:30 When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed his head and gave up His spirit!

2nd Word: Your Iniquity is Removed!

John 1:29 The next day He saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

1 John 2:2 And He is the atoning sacrifice of our sins; and not for ous only , but also for the sins of the whole world!

1 John 3:5 And you know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin!

3rd Word: God Gives Double Blessings to the Consequences of All Your Sins.

Romans 5:20 The Law came in so that the transgression would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more!
