The Road to Happiness!

Last Week: Mark 4:16-21 – Jesus Came to:

• To Proclaim Good News to the Poor Bankrupt to Having it All
• To Proclaim Release to Prisoners; Bondage to Freedom
• To Proclaim Sight to the Blind! Darkness to Light
• To Set Free the Oppressed! Shattered and Broken to Healed and Whole

• Confess Your Total Bankruptcy Without Christ & Inherit the Kingdom!

Matthew 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
It’s a confession –

• Of sin and a fall that comes short of the God’s Glory!

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 7:18 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not.

• Of Total Depravity of Heart and Mind!

Romans 3:10 as it is written, “THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS , NOT EVEN ONE;

• Of Humility Your Responsibility For Your Sin, Bondage and Failures!

Luke 18:9-14 – The Publican and Pharisee!

2. Mourn Over Your Sinful Condition and Receive Lasting Comfort!

Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

2 Corinthians 7:8-10 A Godly Sorrow

What this does – James 4:5-10

• It strips You From All Pride.
• It Brings the Grace of God!

Saving Grace – Transforming Grace – Forgiving Grace – Enabling Grace!

Humble Yourself and Receive the Kingdom of Heaven!

• It Brings the Nearness of God!

Isaiah 66:2 “But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.
Psalms 34:18 The LORD is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit.

• It Brings Total Restoration and Recovery!

Psalm 51 – A Psalm of Confession, Mourning and Freedom!
Psalms 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.

• It Brings an Everlasting Comfort! (Paraklete)
• It Brings the Holy Spirit – The Comforter of God!

John 14:16 “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;
