Placing Your House in Order!
Mike Fritscher

A House in Order – An Ordered Life! 2 Kings 20:1-7

The Word to Hezekiah – “Place Your House in Order!”

2 Kings 20:1 In those days Hezekiah became mortally ill. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him and said to him, “Thus says the LORD, `Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.'”

Scripture Speaks of the House as Being: Your Life, Your Family, Your Church!

Your Life! Right With God!

1. Built on Christ and His Word! Obey! Matthew 7:24-27

• Assuring A Strong and Fulfilling Relationship With Christ!

• Assuring A Confident Future, Even In Hard Times!

Bottom Line – Hear God’s word, Do God’s word!

2. A House Dwelt by the Holy Spirit! Trust!

1 Corinthians 3:16 Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?

Galatians 5:16-24 – Walking By the Spirit!

“How We Set Our Lives In Order”

I. Take an Honest Inventory of Your Life?

2 Corinthians 13:5 Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you – unless indeed you fail the test?

Psalm 119:59 I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies!

Psalm 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts; 24 and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

• What’s Happening in My Relationship with God? Is it fresh? Is it growing? Am I encouraged and excited about who God is and what He is doing? Are there issues I have not handed over to Him? Is there sin that I have not dealt with or repented from? Have I been disobedient in any area of my life?

II. Come to Your Senses With a Godly Sorrow!

2 Corinthians 7:10 For the sorrow that is according to God produces a repentance without regret leading to salvation , but the sorrow of the world produces death.

III. Make the Confession!

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins he is faithful to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all Unrighteousness!

IV. Recognize Your Own Unworthiness!

V. Accept God’s Discipline!

VI. Accept God’s Restoration! His Invite to the Party!
