New Life Resolve! What to Believe and Do in 2015!
A. What To Believe! 2 Corinthians 5:17-21
• Believe You Are In Christ!
• Believe You Are A New Creation!
• Believe Old Things Are Past!
• Believe It’s All New!
• You Are Reconciled!
• You Are A Reconciler an Ambassador For Christ!
What Does This Mean?
Matthew 9:17 Nor do people put new wine in old wineskins, otherwise the wine skins burst and wine pours out and the wineskins are ruined: They put wine ito fresh wineskins and both are preserved.
1) Your Nature is Dealt With! It’s New! 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
2) Your Past Is Dealt With! Your Sins Are Taken Away and Forgotten!
Jeremiah 31:34 For I will forgive their iniquity and their sin I will remember no more!
3) Your Future Is Dealt With! You Have A New Forever Life!
Galatians 5:16-24 – Walk By The Spirit!
B. What to Do in 2015! Philippians 3:1-21
1) Put No Confidence in the Flesh!
2) Count All that is of Value As Loss! In view of
3) Knowing Christ and Pursuing A Vibrant Walk w/ Him
4) Forget What Lies Behind!
Isaiah 43:18 Do not call to mind the fomer things, Or ponder things of the past . 19 Behold I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert!
5) Press Forward to Lies Ahead!
In 1722 the great Puritan Pastor and Preacher wrote 21 resolutions for His life. He would commit to read these resolutions every day. In 1723 he wrote 49 more and would spend his life looking to these resolutions.
• Resolved that I will do whatever I think to be most to God’s Glory!
• Resolved, never to lose one moment of time, but improve it the most possible way I possibly can.
• Resolved to live with all my might while I do live.
• Resolved, never to do anything which I should be afraid to do if it were the last hour of my life.
• Resolved to think much on all occasions of my own dying and of the common circumstances which attend death.
• Resolved when I feel pain to think of the pains of martyrdom and of hell.
• Resolved, never to do anything out of revenge.
• Resolved never to suffer the least emotions of anger to irrational beings.
• Resolved never to speak evil of anyone.
• Resolved that I will live so as I shall have wished I had done when I come to die.
• Resolved to maintain the strictest temperance in eating and drinking. (20)
• Resolved to never allow the least measure of any fretting at my father or mother.
• Resolved to everything willingly and cheerfully as unto the Lord and not to man.
